Julia’s life-long love of gardening and career in the visual arts opened doors to a career as a Landscape Designer in 1998. Gardening and understanding how plants grow is an innate passion for Julia. She’s won numerous awards for commercial and residential landscape design on Cleveland’s west side.

For the last 15 years she’s worked for Maple Leaf Landscaping Inc. as a Landscape Designer with her husband, Byron Shutt. Their personal gardens went national when they made the cover of Fine Gardening Magazine with her article about designing with annuals. She speaks at OSU’s Master Gardener’s Symposiums and for garden groups throughout Northeastern Ohio.
